Home to some of the world’s most sought-after wines, Burgundy has a multitude of small, sometimes exquisite estates, and knowing who is who is crucial.

Last year we rightly followed a tip on Domaine Regis Bouvier. This small estate produces wonderful and affordable Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with the main focus on Marsannay, an underrated appellation located in the most northern part of the Côtes de Nuits.

Bernard Bouvier took over the vines of his brother Regis in 2019 and now produces these wines along with those of Domaine René Bouvier, where he has been winemaker since 1992. Following organic principles, Bernard gives a great attention to detail in both the vineyards and cellar. Grapes are tasted on the vine to ensure the perfect ripeness and extraction is carefully managed during the maceration.

When we tasted the wines at the estate, we were extremely impressed with the reds, showing great depth and balance, whilst the whites are full of verve. Both should age well and, with an introductory offer, they come highly recommended.
